The Butch Bakery Cookbook (Wiley Hardcover; October 10, 2011; $19.99)
The Butch Bakery Cookbook is possibly my most anticipated cookbook for the 2011 Holiday Season. Butch Bakery was opened in 2009, when David Arrick decided to give a masculine aesthetic to cupcakes.
My favorites:
- The Driller: Maple Cupcake frosted with Milk Chocolate Ganache and Bacon Bits.
- Beer Run: Chocolate Stout Cupcake with Vanilla Stout Buttercream.
- Camp Out: Graham Cracker and Milk Chocolate Swirled Vanilla Cupcake with S’mores Topping.
- Mojito; Rum Soaked Lime Cupcake with Middled Minty-Lime Cream Cheese.
No need to fear any of these cupcakes. Although they arent’ made from a box-easy……oh wait, there just happens to be a section for “made froma box-easy” cupcakes.
The ingredients are easily found in a traditional, neighborhood grocery store. The prep instructions are simple to follow and the cupcakes themselves are almost idiot proof. Not to mention, AMAZINGLY delicious. Who wouldn’t want a cupcake with bacon bits on it?
BRILLIANT!
Well worth the $20, and the variety of recipes is perfect to use for any occasion, even morning time (there happens to be a “wake up” section of recipes).
